Peculiar Treasure

Since the first day we met at Cedarville, Danah has been an amazing friend ~ and Brett came along not long after. She's the type of person who kind, quirky, and fun... And she tolerates my quirks, too! From scrounging for change in the middle of the night and coming up with pennies the vending machine won't take to the kitten-for-a-day nightmare, our friendship has lasted through the years (lets just say her carpet may not have fared quite as well because of the kitten). It's impossible to describe the blessing of her friendship. She has truly been a peculiar treasure.

A couple of images from Danah and Brett's visit to Peoria and the Morton Pumpkin Festival...

And one final photo I would be remiss if I did not include...

Try Something New!

Those of you who know me well, know that I'm typically not that adventurous. "If you find something good, stick with it" is my philosophy. When we go to a restaurant, I generally order the same thing every time we go. Lately though, I've thrown caution to the wind (well, sorta) and done things I haven't before.

New Thing #1 - Cubs game at Wrigley Field
New Thing #2 - Harvesting Corn

Wrigley field was neat, although, I must admit that I missed a lot of the game people watching :-). Unfortunately for the Cubbie's, they lost by a lot. Seeing Wrigley was something you have to do at least once, though.

I grew up in a rural area, but had never experienced farming first hand, so riding in a combine during corn harvesting was fascinating! So much goes into farming that I had never thought about before. Bruce let me drive a bit ... it's a good thing I don't do that for a living b/c I'm a swervy driver!

So a challenge to you... try something new.
